Schooners Bar & Grill
is a
blast! It's in a small shopping center (or a
large strip mall - not sure which it is). After
shopping, or better yet, BEFORE shopping,
Schooner's is a great place to loosen up a little
bit. There is a long wood bar -------->>
with plenty of smiling faces and a great menu. If
you want a fantastic dinner but you don't want to
sit at the bar, there is a private dinning room, for
that cozy, quiet dinner-type atmosphere (below).
A nice dinner is a good idea to have BEFORE
shopping. I found that shopping when hungry
adds about a hundred dollars to my grocery bill -
every time.

Schooners
has quite a mixture of
clientele. This

was watching the
pool game while he
enjoyed his Dos
Equis. I found he
wasn't much of a
conversationalist. I
think he was on his
way to a wedding or
coming from a
wedding. There
aren't many tuxes at
Schooners.

Entertainment takes a new Twist
at Schooners. The Battle of the Biceps is a new one on me.
Think you have what it takes to win the battle of the biceps? Then prove it this Saturday night. How many curls can you do? 50 lbs men's contest. 30 lbs women's contest. Do the most curls win the prize. Schooners will be giving away cash prizes to the winners. Gold's Gym will be giving away memberships to the winners. Hope to see everyone out!

The History Of Roanoke
Known as the "Capital of the Blue Ridge," and a crossroads for
commerce, the city of Roanoke’s history began in the 1740s.
Mark Evans and Tasker Tosh came from Pennsylvania and took
up land near the salt licks where Indian and animal trails crossed in
the center of the valley.
Roanoke also has been named the "Festival City". Festivals
include Roanoke Festival In the Park, Downtown Roanoke’s
Railway Festival, Henry Street Festival, Vinton’s Dogwood
Festival, The Virginia Championship Chili Cook-off and
Strawberry Festival, to name a few.
So, if you're in town for one of the festivals, don't forget to drop
Schooner's Bar & Grill for some of the best the Shenandoah
Valley's Cuisine.

Food at Schooner's
is varied and delicious. The lunch specials,
pictured above, change from day to day. This
was a good day to drop by. The dinner menu is
much more complex. For a good look at it,
click the link below but when you do, keep in
mind, it's a slow download. When you get the
menu, it's in a new Adobe format. It's not as
small as it looks. Just click on the enlargement
tab at the to right hand corner. If it's still too

and you can make this menu as big as you
