Iggie's is

out of business.

We're going to leave Iggie's page here, for a while, because

of the interesting art and the interesting menu.  The menu

might provide food for thought for others.  It is a good menu.

Here's some more food for thought for Iggies.  Numerous interests

have had this location over the last 35 years, since I've been in

St.Augustine.  They all failed, not because of their quality or service

but because this location is invisible from the road.  There is a large,

new, beautiful church across the street.  Even when I, myself, drive

past Iggies, I never see it because I'm looking at that church building. 

Iggies was there for months before I knew it and I only knew it

because some TOLD me it was there.  Iggies was a GREAT place

and I'm sorry it's gone.

drinking establishment on this site for

a long time, but Andy has given it a

touch of class not seen here before.

  For long time St. Augustine residents

or visitors from faraway, Iggies is a

nice surprise.

Iggie's

boasts not only friendly customers (left)

but the most melodiferous duo this side of

Star Wars. The lead singer is Pounce De

Leon himself, playing the sexaphone. The

only complaint is from the local Minorcans

who say, after all these years, he still

doesn't have the Fromajada down right.

  The fat cat on the far right is KatManDu,

lead guitarist, formerly of the Beverly Hill

Hill Billies.  Andy is looking for a

Vietnamese restaurant who might want to

buy them. (Live Music from time to time)

Iggie's

   is well equipped with a large bar

(left top) and a nice sized dining room. It was unfair of me, I suppose, to drop in on a Monday when Iggie's was closed.  As one can see, most of the tables are bunched together in the background with chairs on top. I'll have to come by again and get some picts of the dining room when it's actually ready for business. One thing this picture clearly communicates with the chairs on top of the tables.  Iggie's is very clean.  I liked that.  Fresh paint, art selections on the walls, updated immaculate decor and a friendly proprietor make for a very inviting spot for dining. Fin Neckerbacher (left) was head chef at another local restaurant but he was fired because of his prejudice against SpoonBills.  The Head Waitress (above) only serves coffee.  Be nice to her and she won't bite you.

I went to Iggie's for lunch on the fourth of July.   I had the Coconut Macadamia Shrimp It was fabulous

I think he could bottle the Mango-Habañero sauce.  That's incredible stuff!
